This can be out-of-date extensions / custom plugins, or software version core but also hosting software such as PHP or MySQL (additional work is normally required to appraise the complex elements outside of the website).
It is important to regularly service these elements and I can offer a quick audit and remediation plan due to my 15+ years as a CMS expert. I can refer you to development partners for anything outside of my remit.
